Key Responsibilities

Citizens Advice New Forest is seeking an Advice Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality advice services within a designated area of the New Forest. This role is vital in ensuring that our services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the local community, including those in rural or hard-to-reach areas.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience managing advice services or a similar role in the charity sector or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of issues such as welfare benefits, housing, employment, and debt.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to identifying and addressing community needs.

  • Oversee the delivery of advice services across local offices and outreach locations
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Build relationships with local organisations and community groups to expand service reach.
  • Act as the lead for debt advice, supervising advisers and ensuring quality standards.
  • Monitor service performance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

The Role

As Locality Advice Manager, you will oversee the delivery of advice services in the East New Forest area, ensuring they are accessible, high-quality, and meet the needs of the local community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing advice services across local offices and outreach locations.
  • Leading a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local partners, including councils, health services, and housing associations.
  • Acting as the lead on energy advice across the New Forest, supervising energy advisers and improving energy-related advice processes.
  • Monitoring service performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to local and national campaigns, using client data to influence positive change.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience managing advice services or similar functions in the charity or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of key client issues such as energy, welfare benefits, debt, and housing.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with strong organisational abilities.
  • Experience in community outreach and partnership development.

While knowledge of the Citizens Advice network is desirable, it’s not essential – we value your experience and commitment to making a difference.
