Public Offices in Hythe to host new Credit Union
A branch of Solent Credit Union will be held at the Public Offices, The Grove, St Johns Street, Hythe, starting 12 January, Tuesdays between 10am – 12 noon.
A credit union is a financial cooperative, jointly owned and democratically controlled by its members. They can help with savings and loans and are often referred to as Community Banks. The District Council and the Parish Council are working together to promote this initiative for the benefit of local residents. Cllr Jill Clearly (the Portfolio Holder for the District) said that more branches may be considered in the District if there is a good take up by local people. Current members and anyone wishing to sign up as a new member are welcome to come along to The Grove and learn more, no appointment needed. For more information see the Solent Credit Union website.
